Newsletters
Please scroll down the page to see some of the newsletters on which I have worked.  To read or download a PDF version of each publication, just click on the relevant image.

If I have been a contributing writer towards a publication rather than wholly responsible for its content, I have stated so below.
Science Opportunity newsletter
(PDF 762 KB)
Science-Opportunity.jpg
This 8-page newsletter was written to tell prospective undergraduate Science students what has been happening in the Faculty of Science recently.

This newsletter is an important marketing tool sent out to sixth formers before they begin their UCAS applications.  Science subjects typically struggle to recruit students and this newsletter was about addressing 16 and 17 year olds in an informal and friendly style.  I picked each of the stories with a view to presenting a more diverse view of science than lab coats and bunsen burner stereotypes.
Humanities Opportunity newsletter

This was the first Opportunity newsletter I researched and wrote for The Nottingham Trent University - a new version should be available shortly.

As above, this 8-page newsletter was aimed at students about to make their UCAS applications.  The articles cover important topics such as university life, employment opportunities, undergraduate and postgraduate achievements, exchange trips and student profiles.
Graduation News - November 2002
(PDF 182 KB)
I was a contributing writer to this newsletter.  My articles were: ‘Making Real Connections’, ‘Study Gives a Voice to Local History’, ‘Tourism Expert’s Journey of Discovery’ and ‘Steering a New Course’.

I did the background research and interviews for each of these articles and thoroughly enjoyed meeting such an interesting selection of people.

This newsletter is given to all guests attending the university’s graduation ceremonies.

In this edition, my articles were: ‘Oral history project speaks volumes about school’s past’, ‘A perfect performance...’, ‘PhD by published work’, and ‘Siemens pair lead the way’.
